Students explore different art quilt techniques and design methods through exploration of famous artists.

 

Choose one, two or more for a workshop, day long or weekend class.

 

 

 

Warhol

Warhol

Andy Warhol was known for bold colors in graphic printmaking. In this workshop, students use batik fabrics and mixing and matching of colors to re-create the look of Warhol printmaking

Lichtenstein

Lichtenstein

With this artist students explore using pattern to design with. We do rubbings using fabric crayons to imitate Roy Lichenstein's pop-art, cartoony style.

Klimt

Klimt

With this artist, students explore using metallic threads, foiling and even using actual metal pieces to relive the opulence that exists in Gustav Klimt's most famous artworks.

Van Gogh

Van Gogh

Students explore the color and movement evoked by Van Gogh's artworks by playing with fabric scraps in these pieces.

Miro

Miro

With this artist, students explore designing with randomness by using the roll of the die and Miro inspired colors and lines. This piece is created using wax crayons and Inktense pencils.
